BMC Remedy ARSystem 7.x Administrator part 1 (web-based)
ExpertDesk is built with the Action Request System technology of Remedy. This 4GL software is used to build complex workflow applications like ExpertDesk. People with a profound knowledge of these tools are better equipped to develop, maintain and adapt systems such as ExpertDesk. In this highly interactive web-based training, participants learn foundation concepts necessary to administer BMC Remedy AR System. This course introduces BMC Remedy AR System architecture, concepts, and terminology. Participants learn how to navigate BMC Remedy User and BMC Remedy Administrator in order to perform administrative tasks.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course students can:
- Define the purpose and benefits of BMC Remedy Action Request System
- Identify the different BMC Remedy AR System roles
- Define the BMC Remedy AR System architecture
- Identify the BMC Remedy AR System development tools
- Log into the BMC Remedy AR System clients
- Navigate BMC Remedy User
- Create and search for requests using BMC Remedy User and a web browser
- Create BMC Remedy AR System reports using BMC Remedy User and a web browser
- Record and run macros in BMC Remedy User
- Understand how to receive notifications using BMC Remedy Alert and the web
- Navigate BMC Remedy Administrator
- Describe basic administration tasks using BMC Remedy Administrator
- Identify and describe the different types of server objects and fields
- Provide an overview of access control in the BMC Remedy AR System
Student Profile
This course is meant for persons who need a profound knowledge of the AR System. In most of the cases this concerns people who will develop a new application using AR System software, manage an existing AR System application or want to know more about the technical background of ExpertDesk. Students with existing knowledge about databases and building client software will have an advantage.

This course is a prerequisite for the Data Admin part 2 course.
This course is only sold in combination with the Data Admin part 2 course.
It is a 6-hour web-based training.
